Argentina's critical minerals strategy aims to position the country as a leading global supplier supporting the clean energy transition. Furthermore the country is expanding mineral resources development beyond lithium to include copper, LNG, uranium and renewable energy projects.

This is according to Argentina's Secretary for Mining, Luis Lucero at the International Lithium Association’s seminar during Argentina Day at the London Metal Exchange’s LME Week 2025 event. Argentina curently holds the world's largest lithium resources, ahead of countries like Bolivia, Chile, Australia and China.
Mr Lucero further elaborated that strong governance, investor confidence, and a transparent framework underpin Argentina’s ambitions in critical minerals and sustainable growth. Acknowledging the importance of international confidence in the country, he underscored that Argentina was open for business and eager to partner with responsible investors ready to contribute to the global energy transition.
